Beef Stroganoff
When it comes to comfort food, it’s tough to beat beef stroganoff; and the Bring Your Lunch! cookbook has an easy, creamy, noodley recipe for you. If you have leftover steak or pot roast on hand, this recipe will come together in a matter of minutes. While they’re not required, a few cooked mushrooms add an extra savory dimension, so toss those in, too, if you have them. Click here for more of our best beef stroganoff recipes.

This recipe is from my husband's mother who lives in Iowa. I had never seen the stuff before in my life until I went to visit her. It is just a basic, no frills added beef and noodles. I have added the addition of a few things from Penzeys.com. I think it adds the perfect touch to a plain, but good beef and noodles. Also, I think it is better after cooling off in refrig and then reheating in microwave. Try it!

I was looking for a recipe for beef and noodles that didn't use any sort of condensed soup. I found one at Better Homes & Gardens and made a few changes to come up with this. I use Homemade Noodles (recipe 27344) for the noodles, and they absorb a lot of liquid so this is pretty thick - if you like it thinner, adjust accordingly (I've not tried this with purchased noodles but they may make a difference as well).

Similar to a Beef Stroganof, this recipie is easy to prepare and makes round steak very tender. We have Church for about three hours. This is perfect for Sunday dinner. The house permiates with the smell of dinner!
