During the holidays it's always fun to have friends and family come over and enjoy drinks and food while watching television. You can go all out and throw a huge dinner party or you can have a small gathering and serve appetizers and drinks. When you make appetizers this year, you can go sweet and make cheesecake dip or Brie en croute topped with jam. Or, you can go the savory route and make a roasted beet dip, spinach and mushroom bites, or crostini. Open up a few bottles of wine and serve these wonderful appetizers. There are so many appetizer options you can serve at your next holiday dinner party and that's why we made it the theme of this week's SWAT (Sharing With A Theme).

Brie En Croute

You just take a really creamy wheel of Brie and completely envelope it in a sheet of puff pastry. Once it's baked, the puff pastry becomes incredibly flaky and crisp, and the Brie melts into a state that makes it, if you can believe it, even creamier. Once you stab a knife or fork into the puff pastry envelope, Brie will just flow out like running lava, waiting for you to scoop it up and have your mind blown. I like to add a big dollop of jam or some kind of preserves to the top of my Brie, usually in the little gap where the puff pastry ends don't quite meet, for a touch of sweetness. –Mon Petit Four
