Best Bites From Feast Portland

Last weekend Portland, Ore., hosted Bon Appétit's second annual Feast Portland, where local chefs mingled with national chefs and cooked up meals for the general public to enjoy. Glasses were broken, sandwiches devoured, almost all-nighters pulled (most likely on the chef side), and downtown Portland was turned into a food festival and pedi-cab-filled semi-tourist attraction for four days.

Locals won at the Sandwich Invitational, while Antique Taco was by far the favorite at the Night Market (this year decorated with Chinese lanterns), and High Comfort brought out serious high-end chefs like Thomas McNaughton and April Bloomfield (who tells us she's hoping for an October opening for her San Francisco restaurant). At the after-after-parties (yes, those happened), teams of restaurant workers (and media!) participated in a drunken Flip Cup tournament, with the final round pitting Pok Pok and Ración against each other.

We checked out the major scenes during Feast to capture the best plates, cooking demos, and tasting panels of the weekend, all to bring you the best bites to be had.
