Ben & Jerry's Releases '30 Rock' Liz Lemon Flavor

After all that buzz earlier this week about a 30 Rock-inspired Ben & Jerry's ice cream (and much speculation as to the flavor), it turns out that Liz Lemon will forever be immortalized in a lemon Greek frozen yogurt with a blueberry and lavender swirl. It "promises to be as sweet and tart as Liz Lemon herself," the press release said (co-founder Jerry Greenfield also said that word-for-word at last night's launch party).

The simple flavor might come as a surprise, seeing as past celebrity-inspired flavors are often vanilla-based — Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream, Jimmy Fallon's Late Night Snack, and Saturday Night Live's Schweddy Balls. Also missing? Ben & Jerry's signature cheekiness, although last night a rep did note Colbert's suggestion of a Conan O'Brien flavor next, to go along with the theme of ending shows.

The "Liz Lemon" flavor, however, is still surprisingly good, and not as tart as Pinkberry-esque frozen yogurt; one tester noted that it almost tastes like Skittles.

"We are always looking for a fun way to serve up a Ben & Jerry's flavor, and when the R&D team came up with a lemon-based Greek Frozen Yogurt there was only one name on the list," said marketing manager Jody Eley. So while 30 Rock fans might be crying over the teary show finale, at least they can drown their sorrows in frozen Greek yogurt. It might be too healthy to suit Liz Lemon's tastes, or be missing some Nerds, sandwich scraps, and ham, and it might not be called Adultaraisin, but it's all we have left.
