BeerBQ At Hudson: A Pan-American Exposition Of Beer And Barbecue

On Saturday, June 22, something will be brewing in Hudson Common and Tequila Park adjacent to the Hudson in New York City. More precisely, it's beer and barbecue that will be plentiful at the first ever BeerBQ, an event organized by Meatopia founder Josh Ozersky to convene barbecue pit masters from across America.

Like boxers in the ring, they're coming from several corners. The lone star of Texas at the party, Jesse Perez, will make the crowd go wild with his eclectic southwestern chile-rubbed brisket. Matt Fisher won't be in Kansas anymore when he brings his Kansas City "wet" spareribs to Hudson, and New Yorkers will be glad of it. And pulled from down in Dixie will be Ed Wilson, with his Carolina pulled pork in a special pepper vinegar dressing. To add to these knockout regional specialties, Hudson Common will be serving its Uncommon Dishes to represent New York.

Beloved old Brooklyn Brewery will put the "beer" in BeerBQ with a selection of more than sixty craft beer pairings, adding to a separate list of Southern-inspired cocktail specials. And it wouldn't be a party without live music from the Howard Fishman Quintet, plus the stylings of DJ Natalie Dodge. Finally, foosball matches will complete the list of options for fun.

A selection of tickets with different options for food and beer pairings can be found here, and the offerings will also be available for a la carte purchase.
