Foursquare Tips

  • Reader tip: For some of the best cocktails in town, go to Peche on 4th Street. They make their own bitters as a sign of their devotion.
  • Looks unassuming from the outside, but on the inside it's the perfect little spot to enjoy a drink. The adult milkshakes are fun and delicious.
  • Devil's Cocktail - do it.
  • Get the Sazerac.
  • A cocktail bar for people who don't think they like cocktails. Don't bother asking for anything with Vodka. Branch out, let an expert mixologist make you a COCKTAIL & snack on some tasty small plates.
  • I always give the bar tenders full creative powers over my drinks and have never been disappointed.
  • Austin's original absinthe house has an extensive menu filled with modern and classic cocktails categorized by base spirit. Of course, there's no better place to have traditionally prepared absinthe.
  • Very nicely executed cocktails, both classic and new. Corpse Reviver #2 = the end.
  • The absinthe leaves a bit to be desired. That's not their fault, just blame the TABC for not letting decent American-made absinthe into Texas. That said, get a fig manhattan. Best. Cocktail. Evar
  • Their Fig Manhattan is awesome!
  • Yes, even you can brave the downtown parking mayhem for all day happy hour on Mondays.
  • Excellent moules in lemon broth with Tito's Vodka. Try also the charcuterie board. They also do a good riff on the Last Word using rye, called the Final Say.
  • French 79 was citrusy and not too sweet. very well done
  • Ask the bartender for the Final Say. It's not on the menu but it's amazing. Rye and green Chartreuse...
  • Wheelchair access on sidewalk that starts on the alley on Colorado.
  • Order the moules frites and a french 77...you may have a divine encounter.
  • Try the Gin & Monks, an off menu chartreuse cocktail
  • Drew is absolutely amazing! Best service ever. I'll be back only for him...and the drinks. ;)
  • Great seats by window good food
  • A comprehensive absinthe list and a drink menu littered with cocktails from the show, Peche is the mixology bar. Our favorite is the NY Sour with Makers Mark, lemon, simple, and a red wine float.
