Foursquare Tips

  • Bar Gernika is a staple for great food and friendship on the Basque Block in downtown Boise. The Croquetas are a little slice of heaven.
  • Voted by Boise Weekly readers as the Best of Boise 2010.
  • Spicy lamb grinder. Nuff said.
  • Eat croquetas and drink a kalimocho - nuff said
  • 2011 Best of Treasure Valley Winner for "Best bar"
  • Loved the Solomo sandwich and the croquets. Don't forget the tiger sauce!
  • BAR GERNIKA is 2010 Best of Treasure Valley winner for "Best bar" read about it here:
  • Croquetas. Croquetas. Chorizo sandwich. Croquetas. :-)
  • The only thing better than croquetas is croquetas with Tiger Sauce. (The bottles aren't always on the table, ask and they'll bring one.)
  • Try a Kalimotxo (coke and red wine)
  • Order the Crack House. Delicious!
  • The fries are some of the best in town.
  • Spicy Lamb Grinder!
  • I'm surprised no one has mentioned the lamb stew. It's the best I've ever had
  • Croquetas are a must have!
  • Beef Tongue on Saturday & beer....Nuff Said.
  • Ask for the "Fosterizo." (The Chorizo Supreme with the chorizo sliced horizontally for stability and grilled with jalapeos for bite.)
  • Do not pass on the opportunity to try this Boise restaurant in the unique Basque Block of downtown and Historic Old Boise. If you only try one thing, get the Croquetas.
  • In Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Guy Fieri stopped by to try local favorites, including Basque specialties. We recommend the Chorizo and Saffron Rice Paella.
  • Gluten-free options. Disappointed in the lamb stew.
