ATRIO Wine Bar | Restaurant Opens In Battery Park

The newest addition to the culinary scene in lower Manhattan's Battery Park is ATRIO Wine Bar | Restaurant.

Located in the luxurious Conrad New York hotel, ATRIO is the latest attempt to reconcile traditional tastes in a modern setting by pairing rustic Mediterranean cuisine with cosmopolitan presentation. Under the creative direction of Chef Anthony Zamora, of Italian and Lebanese heritage, the restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus which are rooted in fresh, seasonal garden fare and wood-fired breads.

Stone oven baked eggs highlight the breakfast and brunch menu, which also claims capellini frittata, ricotta hotcakes, and an assortment of items featuring fresh fruits and berries. The lunch and dinner menus offer stone fired pizza and pastas as favorites, including a Long Island duck sausage orecchiette, and are complimented by hand-crafted farmhouse cheeses and crostini. The "Express Yourself" menu is a new addition by Zamora, providing three-course box style lunches for diners on the go, and is available for $25.

The restaurant is located in the atrium lobby of the hotel, boasting of its panoramic, fifteenth-story view of lower Manhattan. With an open, informal kitchen design, guests can view the meticulous creation of the dishes, and the mixture of cafe and lounge style seating further provides a casual yet metropolitan atmosphere. Rustic decor such as the "wine wall," a focal point of the bar area, and the restaurant's sparsely decorated, wood paneling highlights Mediterranean inspiration. This decor, set against views of the Hudson River and the Statue of Liberty, creates the beautiful juxtaposition of new and old world their cuisine in turn commands.
