Atlantic City's Revel Resorts Announces First Food Festival

The newly opened Revel Resorts isn't just trying to accomplish its goal of becoming Atlantic City's Bellaggio — it's aiming to be the ultimate foodie destination. The inaugural Taste of Revel festival highlights the resort's lineup of star chefs on hand.

In partnership with Food and Wine and Travel & Leisure, Revel has quite an extravaganza planned for its May event: a kick-off bash featuring upgraded boardwalk eats, a pastry party, a "liquid brunch," cooking demonstrations with Revel chefs, and custom-curated Taste of Revel dinners. (A Black Keys/ Maroon 5 concert doesn't hurt either). Best of all: it's a hands-on experience with Revel's lineup of acclaimed chefs, Alain Allegretti, Jose Garces, Marc Forgione, Michel Richard, and Robert Wiedmaier.

What are the demonstrations we're drooling over? The "Conquer the Steak" with chef Marc Forgione, the Iron Chef and steak master. He will explain different cuts of beef, flavor profiles, and secrets to grilling the perfect steak. Also on the list, Iron Chef Jose Garces will share his technique for his legendary seafood paella in a traditional Spanish menu.

It's no wonder that Revel is kicking off its opening with an epicurean flair; the beachfront property has 14 restaurants in tow and multiple clubs. Back in February, insiders at the opening party told The Daily Meal that the resort also plans on a tapas bar, a burger and bourbon bar, plus other openings from its star-studded list of chefs.

Tickets are available now for the weekend-long event on the Revel Resorts web site.
