The Art Of PB&J

Peanut butter and jelly might be my favorite meal in the whole entire world. (Hello, there's protein in it, so yes, it's a "meal.") Basically since birth I was raised on Jif and Smucker's and, quite honestly, I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Now that I'm a little older and have slightly more sophisticated taste buds, I've tried venturing out in the beautiful world of PB&J by trying new and exciting variations on the classic sandwich. With a little help from my friends (thanks, Ringo), here is a list of the best "adult" PB&J recipes.

1.  PB&J Roll-Ups

Add a little Mexican flare by swapping bread for a tortilla! Simply spread peanut butter and jelly over the entire surface of the tortilla and roll it up. For extra flavor and fun, add some sliced strawberries or granola. So easy, a college kid could do it!

2. The Gluten-Free PB&J

I know what you're probably thinking. "What's a PB&J without the bread?" But I'm here to tell you that this insanely easy variation is still delicious! This is perfect for when you are just too lazy to make a real dinner, not that that would ever happen, right? Grab a spoon and dig in. Easy clean up too...just lick the spoon and you're good to go!

3. PB&J Oatmeal

No, this is not a sandwich, but yes, this is freakin' delicious. Great for breakfast, lunch, dinner, second dinner, or a late night snack. Cook up some of that plain oatmeal your mom bought you at the beginning of the semester and stir in some PB and J. The protein in the peanut butter and the fiber in the oatmeal keeps you full for hours!

4. The Elvis

The King's favorite sandwich was grilled Italian bread filled with peanut butter and bananas. Rumor has it that he sometimes added bacon. (Sometimes? Sure, Elvis, sure.)

5. Peanut Butter and Nutella

Do I even need to explain this one? I didn't think so. You're welcome.

6. PB&J Sushi

Talk about sophisticated! Most college kids I know don't have the palette (and by palette, I mean funds) to support a sushi addiction, so this is the next best thing! Impress your next dinner party guests with these little appetizers. Bon appétit!
