With drive-thrus, food courts, and gas stations, travelers have an overwhelming number of options for premium snack-time indulgence. Zimmern, who has traveled extensively, shares the top five foods he considers staples for a roadside repast.

Don't worry — you won't find cockroaches, spiders, or roadkill on this list. What Zimmern craves most when he's on the road are all-American greats like pizza and hamburgers. Though his selections may not be the most nutritious, Zimmern makes it clear that certain highway foods are tasty enough to combat any calorie-counting guilty consciences.

"It's so bad for you, but it's a real guilty pleasure," said Zimmern of ubiquitous gas station and truck stop snack staples like hot dogs and fried chicken.
