Alexander Wang Turned His Own Real-Life Party Scene Into a Sexy Campaign Spread for S/S 2015

It’s no secret that Alexander Wang is a bit of a party boy. He throws shindigs like no one else can—so it sort of makes sense that his latest campaign takes place on the back of a party bus. His most recent "rave on wheels" campaign doesn’t exactly evoke images of spring—like other fashion campaigns we’re seeing lately—but we can’t say we’re surprised. Wang always marches to the beat of his own drum. (It’s probably what makes all those parties of his so good.) Lounging in the black light and neon-lit bus, models Anna Ewers, Binx Walton, Lexi Boling, Vanessa Moody, Sarah Brannon and Dylan Xue sit amid LED lighting, a bathtub, sunroof and wrap-around couches looking like they’ve finally hit the end of their night. “It felt so authentic,” Wang told WWD. “All the girls are girls who come out with me. We got the set and said, ‘It kind of just feels like last weekend.’”

Photographed by Steven Klein and styled by Karl Templer, the campaign is a bold mix of neon and garish colors, which either blend seamlessly into the bright shades of Wang’s designs or bounce off the solid black hues of his pieces. “We go into these parties not even thinking about what a beautiful campaign this would make because usually the decor is very, um, opposite,” the designer admits to Style.com. But add a little of that Alexander Wang party magic and you’ve got yourself a high-fashion advertising campaign. “It kind of just replicates something that might have happened the week before,” he added. “We actually rented two party buses, which I’ve personally rented before, so I can say that it was a very genuine portrayal of something that I’ve personally experienced.”
