Alain Ducasse Teams Up With Alex Atala For New Restaurant

Looks like two bigwigs in the food world are teaming up for a serious collaboration; Fine Dining Lovers tips us off to a Vogue Brazil report that Alain Ducasse and Alex Atala are in chats to open a restaurant in Rio de Janeiro next January.

"I hope the project goes well because Brazil is an amazing country and I love Brazilians," Ducasse told Vogue; Fine Dining Lovers notes that Ducasse also claimed the restaurant will primarily feature Brazilian ingredients, prepared with French influences.

Ducasse is already a household name in the food world, while Atala is best known for his restaurant D.O.M. in São Paulo, one of the top 10 restaurants in the world and named the best restaurant in South America according to The World's 50 Best Restaurant awards.

No word on what the restaurant name will be, but Eater notes that the two have worked together before; Ducasse wrote the forward to Atala's upcoming cookbook.
