9 Leftover Turkey Recipes

Toasts were made, waistbands were loosened, and the turkey was cooked to perfection. It's the day after Thanksgiving — and now you are most thankful that the holiday is over. Turkey Day chaos has subsided and the holiday went off without a hitch. Even Aunt Minnie was impressed by your lump-free gravy. Now, the refrigerator is full of leftover turkey — and it was good (pat yourself on the back). To make sure none of that tender meat goes to waste, here are some of our favorite leftover turkey recipes.

We know that after the holiday there is a rush to use up extra helpings of turkey that weren't gobbled down at the feast. This week, we put the Culinary Content Network and our staff to the test to come up with tasty leftover turkey recipes. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Brianne Izzo of Cupcakes and Kale Chips stuffed a sweet potato full of Thanksgiving fixings like turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. Izzo is a member of The Culinary Content Network.
  • Jennifer Drummond of Peanut Butter and Peppers created a turkey, pear, and apple panini smothered in cranberry sauce. Drummond is a member of The Culinary Content Network.
  • The winner this week is Lauren Gordon, the Entertain editor at The Daily Meal. Lauren wrapped turkey and cranberry sauce in puff pastry for a festive dumpling-like appetizer.

All of the recipes featured can be made at home for about $20 or less, excluding the cost of small amounts of basic ingredients such as butter, oil, flour, sugar, salt, pepper, and other dried herbs and spices.
