In these eight cities you can ring in the new year without breaking the bank — but still have plenty of fun.

New Year’s Eve is just more than a week away, which means that all over the world people will be celebrating by staying up late and enjoying glass after glass of champagne. Or at least that’s the hope. Maybe you’ve gotten swept up by holiday madness and haven’t made plans, or maybe you’re on a tight budget and can’t afford to spend a huge chunk of change on a night out. Don’t despair, though. Plenty of hotels still have packages for less than $500 that can include not only lodging, but admission to some of the best parties across the country. You just have to know where to look.

And these eight spots deliver a wide range of dynamic experiences. If you love live music, the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch is hosting three different live bands. Expect everything from electronic dance music to classic rock hits as you dance your way into 2014.

If you’d like to celebrate and support a worthwhile cause, head to the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, where part of the proceeds from its "Party with a Purpose" benefit Colorado Flood Relief. If you’d rather enjoy a five-course meal, consider visiting La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa. Its on-site restaurant is dishing out plates with Southwestern flair like rosemary and orange goat cheese flan and serrano ham and lobster salad with red chile raspberry vinaigrette.

Wherever your New Year’s Eve plans take you, rest assured knowing that, yes, there are still affordable hotels available where you can celebrate the new year in style. Just book them quickly to secure your spot.
