5 Best New York City Bars For The Super Bowl

"Maybe you're a football fan. Maybe you aren't.

Either way, this Sunday more than 111 million people will tune in to watch Ravens take on the 49ers. Or Beyoncé take on halftime. Or the time-honored tradition of Superbowl's infamously entertaining commercials.

If you're like me, you know when it's time to cheer the team on: When there are stellar drink specials to partake of and delicious bar grub to nosh on. (That's what I call a score.)

Here are some of our favorite football-loving locales:

Looking for a Ravens bar? Wharf Bar and Grill is the spot. This Midtown East sport pub has become destination for Balitore Ravens fans. Pull up a stool and watch the game on one of its 12 plasma televisions—including one 50-inch—with $3.50 pints of Bud and Bud Light and $4 bottles of Bud Black (one of the premiering commercials). Looking for more team spirit? Try the bar's specialty, Orange Crush, a mixture of fresh orange juice, orange vodka, sprite and triple sec. At only $5 a pint, you'll be screaming, "Fumble!" in no time.

I'm not a betting girl. However, I'll put money on Colin Kaepernick, the newest rockstar quarterback of the 49ers as the one to watch this Superbowl. I'd also bet that San Francisco fans will be "Kaepernicking" at their go-to watering hole, Finnerty's. Want to be VIP? For $35, guests can start the party at 1 p.m. (3 p.m. to the general public), don a Finnerty's Harbowl T-shirt, and entry to an exclusive VIP raffle to win Kaepernick's autographed 49ers jersey and football.

Uptown folks should stop into Soldier McGee Tavern. It has 20 taps of the usual suspects (Sam Adams, Yuengling, Bass), and for the big game, the tavern is also offering $4 Coors Light Silver Bullet and $10 pitchers of Coors Light and Bud Light. In addition to the dozen 50-inch plasma televisions, there's a pool table and a dart board.

It might be Williamsburg, but even hipsters frequent the local sports bar, Mulholland's. Renowned for its hot wings, above par bar food and relaxed ambience, this pub is a sure bet with its 15 high-definition televisions and 22 draft beers. Kickoff with $10 Bud Light pitchers and $15 for six bottles of Miller High Life.

One penalty to watching the big game at a busy bar? Not being able to actually see the game. At Park Slope's 200 Fifth Restaurant & Sports Bar, that's not a problem, thanks to its 108 flat screen televisions and crystal clear projection big screen. The place boasts 40 draft beers, specializing in local breweries from Brooklyn and Sixpoint to Kelso and Coney Island. Throw down with the spots signature burger (a blend of filet mignon and brisket), or grab four or five friends and tackle the bar's Tailgate Platter ($25), a linebacker-worthy plate filled with sliders, hot dogs, chicken wings, ribs, and French fries.
