Coming off a strong year with Tangerine Tango, Pantone has released their 2013 Color of the Year: emerald. The jewel-tone shade is a favorite in the fashion world, as it's gorgeous on certain fabrics like chiffon and satin.

Technically, the hue is PANTONE 17-5641 Emerald — "a lively, radiant, lush color," Pantone stated in a press release.

Here's what else they had to say with regards to the color:

"Most often associated with brilliant, precious gemstones, the perception of Emerald is sophisticated and luxurious. Since antiquity, this luminous, magnificent hue has been the color of beauty and new life in many cultures and religions. Also the color of growth, renewal, and prosperity, no other color conveys regeneration more than green. For centuries, many countries have chosen green to represent healing and unity."

So what does that mean for us entertainers?
Well, in regards to events, it means gorgeous leafy centerpieces like this one, bold table settings with embellishments, and even more succulents — from boutonnieres to bouquets.
As for the home — get ready to go green.

KitchenAid's Bayleaf Stand Mixer made the cut on Pantone's inspiration board on Pinterest, and this Delonghi Espresso maker also is ideal for the vibrant tone.

As for the table, look no further than Wayfair's surprisingly vast collection of emerald pieces, from their glass charger plate to their peacock-hued round tablecloth.
