11 Slow-Cooker Recipes For The Busy Days Of Fall

Slow cookers are one of the greatest tools you can have in your kitchen. Throughout the summer they cook food without heating up the house, and during the busy days of fall they allow you to come home to a hot meal ready to go.

Hectic school days, after-school activities, and cold evenings make slow-cooker recipes the perfect choice for this week's SWAT (Sharing with a Theme).

We put the Culinary Content Network to the test to come up with a few of their favorite slow cooker recipes, and here are some of the highlights:

PJ Binns of Blog By Binns brings us super simple Asian-style ribs. No additional cooking required; just toss everything into a slow cooker and be on your way.

Diane Williams of Homemade Food Junkie brings us a hearty fall pepper soup. Add grains like rice or quinoa to make it a full meal.

This week's winner comes from Kate Dean at I Heart Eating. This banana-bread-inspired breakfast cooks overnight and is ready to go as soon as you are.

All of the recipes featured can be made at home for about $20 or less, excluding the cost of small amounts of basic ingredients such as butter, oil, flour, sugar, salt, pepper, and other dried herbs and spices.
