10 Tips For Gorgeous Food Photos

With the massive overflow of food blogs and web sites, it's no wonder that more and more people are fascinated by the ability to take a good food photo. Considering that the most we can do through the internet is eat with our eyes, online food photography plays a major role in reader interest and blog "likeability." If you're thinking that your photos are nowhere near inducing admiration and stomach grumbles in your fans, you may be surprised to know that improving your photography skills only requires a few helpful tips combined with lots of practice. 

For those who believe that the most important factor is having a good camera, you can guess again. While a good-quality apparatus definitely helps, there are some tips and tricks that will have you taking drool-worthy photos no matter what type of device you're using. Some of the most important components to consider include lighting, background, and distance from the object. For example, food photos should never be taken with a flash. Without question the best light to work with is natural light, but there are ways to simulate it at nighttime.

Perhaps the most important tip, which I didn't include in this list, is to make sure you have fun.  Putting your heart and creativity into your photos allows them to stand out more than anything else, and that is what will always have your readers choosing you for their daily food photo dosage.
